ABOUT ZEPHYR QUARTET

The Zephyr Quartet is a South Australian based string quartet dedicated to introducing new audiences to the quartet medium and to showing the versatility of this medium to existing audiences.

Zephyr promotes and encourages emerging and established artists by commissioning and performing new works.

Zephyr creates new and interesting explorations in the use of a string quartet in modern art forms and invites collaborations.

Zephyr has a passion for all styles of music and is able to present an eclectic array of music suitable for any occasion.

Experience film music as it began in this unique and animating event. Zephyr presents a program of works by independent South Australian film-makers with newly written soundtracks commissioned from contemporary composers. With the quartet performing the soundtracks live on stage, travel back to the beginnings of cinematic history with this inspiring ‘gala extravaganza’ to conclude our celebrations in 2009. Includes films by Jason Lam, Jo Kerlogue, Alex Graham and Catherine Jones and music by Zoe Barry, Angelina Zucco, Catherine Oates and Belinda Gehlert.
